You guys have named some of the best episodes. HOWEVER, my favorite is still the one where a tornado hits Cincinnati. Les can not find the emergency file for tornados so Andy tells him to the read the "If Communist's invade" file but replace communist with tornado. That is absolutely classic.

It really is hard for me to pick one "favorite" episode. Some episodes that stand out are:
The "Real Families" episode. A TV show chronicles a day (or was it a week? I can't remember) of Herb Tarlek's life. Do you remember the main quote of that episode? It was what Herb told his co-workers to say about him: "He's a hard worker, loyal family man, and all-around great guy!"
Another favorite episode of mine is where Herb dressed as a fish and a guy from WPIG (WKRP'S rival station) who is dressed as a pig. Herb and the pig end up having a fight with each other in the men's room. The funny line from that show was during the fight when Bailey hears the commotion and walks into the mens room. Les then says in his shocked voice: "Bailey! You're not suppose to know what it looks like in here!!" lol. That is also the same episode where they are doing a test on the air with Johnny and Venus of how alcohol affects a person's reaction time. Venus fairly quickly gets drunk, but Johnny has no problem holding his liquor. Well, during that time the WPIG pig guy goes to the WKRP office to file a complaint on Herb. To make a long story short, he is left alone in the office and finds a can of red paint and begins to messily paint all over the walls. During a radio commercial break, Johnny is walking back to the studio after a trip to the restroom (liquor will do that to ya. lol.) and sees the pig painting the wall. He then at that point starts staggering back to the studio - thinking he MUST be drunk - and tells his listeners he is now drunk because he "just seen a pig painting the office walls". What a great episode!
There are so many great episodes that I could write for pages here. Probably the strangest episode was the "God Talks To Johnny" episode. When Johnny thinks he's heard God's voice talking to him, everyone, including Johnny, thinks he's going insane. Unusual episode.
A quote that me and my brother sometimes quote is when Herb walks into the office and mentions something about having lunch. I can't remember exactly why and what the situation was, but for some reason after Herb mentioned the word "lunch" it made Les go crazy. After Herb said the word lunch, Les then hollered the word, "LUNCH!" and then attacked Herb and started choking him. Now whenever my brother happens to say the word "lunch", I do my best Les Nessman impersonation and holler, "LUNCH!". However, I don't actually go through with the choking part
Oh yes, WKRP is greatness. -

The lunch bit is in "Most Improved Station" which is one of my favorite episodes. Everybody is on edge because they've just lost the award for most improved station. Herb and Les are talking in the bullpen, and Herb insults Les ("a wimp - a jerk, a crybaby, a weakling, a nobody"). Les gets angry, Herb casually asks him to lunch to try and break the tension, and then Les attacks with "LUNCH!" One of my favorite lines that I say randomly to make myself laugh comes a moment later, when Andy walks in on Les attacking Herb and he says, "Herb, will you quit pickin' on Les?!" Brilliant. I love everything about that episode.
As for favorites, any episode about Herb, but that's just me Put Up or Shut Up, Frog Story, definitely Real Families. "Herb Tarlek is a hard worker, loyal husband, and an all around fine person." I have a lot of favorites. Tornado, Most Improved Station, The Consultant are all wonderful ensemble episodes. When a series is so consistently good, it's hard to pick specific episodes as favorites. -

Definitely the phone cops episode with Johnny at the transmitter banging away on the box which supposedly has the bomb in it.
Anyone remember the episode with the remote from Del's Stereo and HiFi with the Bucky the technician and the guy who holds up the broadcast and goes on the air as "Bobby Boogie". Remember the owner going into his hyperbole until Johnny says "Speed kills Del." Del earlier says, "I can't believe how cheap your rates were" and Johnny says " wait til you see the results".
One episode that really touched me was the one where a friend of Venus' brings her son to see him - he wants to drop out of school - "too stupid, too hard"
On a bet, Venus teaches him about the Atom "Electron, Proton, Neutron and their properties" - very cool writing - not sure if they picked up that bit from somewhere else - if not, pure genius.
Hirsh is undoubtedly a high point. When leaving Andy in the "game" room, thinking Mama Carlson has the hots for him, Hirsh says "Goodbye Mr. Travisgoodbye and good luck!" It's like the bad guy who has just sealed your fate forever.
What was the first commercial on the show? Red Wigglers, the cadillac of worms.
This was Ep.1 when it was still the old stuff.
Wasn't there are episode where Carlson eats brownies made for Venus with Marijuana in them or something like that? -

I loved the line in the episode where Jenneifer's boyfriend "The Colonel" has died. He's reading his will on videotape, "I leave it all to the Hari Krishnas if they'll just stay out of the damned airports!"
The cocaine in the sock response killed "I have a monkey on my foot!"
The Soul Suds bit was good. Herb turned in the wrong picture for Venus' product endorsement and there were life-size cutouts of Herb in his grilling outfit with "Venus Flytrap says "My hair's laid back and so am I with soul suds" Venus enters late and goes for Herbs throat.
Carlton to Johnny "Do I hear wolves?"
Johnny "I do"
Carlton "Pigs on the wing, what's that sound like?"
Johnny "I don't do requests" -

I think that "Most Improved Station" is my favourite episode, too. The scene in the bullpen with the entire cast bickering at one another is the funniest moment in the entire series. Carlson: "Now there's a woman who can disarm Patton in a second!". Les, rubbing his hands in glee, talking to Bailey and Jennifer: "Yes, get used to another's bodies!"
Good times. -

This show is definitely in the top 5 of my all-time favorite TV shows. I think I've watched every episode since it came on 1978 until it ended. The episodes are consistently so good it is not easy to pick out the best. I have to mention a few. I agree that Turkey Away is very funny and probably tops most viewers favorite. I like "The Consultant" which gives almost everyone a chance to play totally different characters. Another one of my favorites that no one has mentioned yet is the one Jennifer pretended married to Johnny because her childhood friend came to visit and claimed that she had promised to marry him when they grow up.
I believe that episode is the first, perhaps the only one, to mention Jennifer's middle name. One of the guys seemed a bit amazed that the initials for Jennifer Elizabeth Marlow is GEM. I think that man is a real life country music singer. At the end they helped him to record a song which begins with "You've got a knife, I've got a gun; lets have a little fun.".
The one that Big Guy used cocaine as foot powder is very funny. That man asked Andy what Carlson is going to do and Andy said "Carlson is no fool. He's going to put it on his foot!". -

I honestly don't know if it's possible to pick a "best" or a "favorite" episode when it comes to a show this ingenius, but a tentative list might include (in no particular order)
"Turkeys Away" ("HappyThanksgivingfrom WKR")
The Tornado Episode ("You're not supposed to move an injured person!")
The Pilot ("Booger!")
The Episode where Herb dresses up as the "WKRP Carp" ("On the air? I am the air! I am the wind")
And probably pretty much every other episode ever made. -

I also like the episode where Johnny has a lizard infestation
I think the funniest part is when Johnny gets an idea of romance himself, he and Bailey hold each other colse, and she shuts him down with a sudden "Goodnight." and goes to her room. She's completely oblvious that he had anything else in mind! -

I like the episode where a state trooper gets Johnny and Venus drunk while on the air and tests their motor reflexes by having them both tap a bell after each drink to prove that alcohol slow thems down.
While they got drunker and drunker, Johnny got faster and faster, and Venus got silly. I don't know the name of that episode and I don't remember much about the rest of what was going on, but that one scene always sticks out in my mind when I think of that show.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will be released on DVD, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. -

I love the episode where the guys decide to break into the photographer's office to steal the nude pictures he took of Jennifer without her knowledge. The scene where they're in the dark, trying to jimmy the lock and then just decide to bust through the window is a scene that makes me LAUGH MY ASS OFF every time I see it. I also LOVE it that when they get back to the station, Andy comes in and says that he's glad he had a spare pair of jeans in his office, meaning he pee'd himself when they heard the sirens in the photographer's office. It's not the funniest episode of WKRP, but the parts that are funny make me laugh harder than any other episode

By the way, my favorite line EVER from an episode is in the Hoyt Axton episode, when Johnny says, with full paranoia, "CHIPS ARE FALLING! CHIPS ARE FALLING!" We use that line all the time in our house when something is going wrong.
