Part of the opsec(operational security) would be 100% radio silence.

If you are going to kidnap 3 astronauts and hold them captive for several months DO NOT bring them a change of clothes but rather make them wear their astronaut clothes the entire time.
If you are one of the captive astronauts and decide to blow the whole thing wide open on live TV make sure you discuss it with your fellow captive astronauts in a television studio with open microphones.
And you wanna know the worst part? You're from outta state! -

- It takes 4 months to go to Mars
- If you're going to Mars don't contact Mission Control except during television transmissions
- Once you land on Mars don't make any scientific experiment, just have a walk outside for a few minutes, plant your flag then head back to Earth
- If you're trying to get out of the desert, climb the steep hill in front of you rather than walking around it

Oh, yeah. This is a terrific movie. I'm watching my disc right now. Why no wide screen? Brenda is sensational as the grieving wife.
but anyway, maybe I missed this one
58. Every emergency/first aid kit on an aircraft has a loaded revolver. This is some sort of 2nd Amendment requirement.
59 Reporters have some sort of photographic memory and can recite word for word what someone has just said to them even if it is seconds before. "you haven't found what you're looking for you're embarrassed about bothering me again, however there are one or two questions more you'd like to ask me. It's something personal and I won't bother you anymore." And the reporter has the moxie to give it back word for word. love that scene)
and yes, to a previous poster; it is hard to figure out if these types of posts are cynical or not. My take on this one is that it isn't. There is one on the Gravity site. It didn't get up. Too cynical, methinks. -

when finding a goverment conspiracy, you should assume the missing astronauts are not dead and buried somewhere, but in actual searching distance from that abandoned warehouse, go hire a cropduster, youll find one in no time.

Let's keep this one alive, eh? Such a great film, nearly FORTY years on!
Number ? - If you're evil enough, you can talk freely with your co-conspirators about cutting off the video feed between Brubaker and his wife while she's sat next to you.
Don't know if anyone's mentioned it on another thread, but the soundtrack to this film, considering it's from the seventies, feels quite a few years ahead of its time. Brilliant. -

I assumed the phone call Gould received at the bar was by the conspirators to distract him while they grabbed the tech.
There were a couple of scenes where they showed Brolin's hands were dripping blood as he was holding onto the crop duster. But yeah, he probably should have fallen off after the first loop-de-loop. -

Telly Savalas invented the wearing a baseball cap backwards thing back in the 70's.
If you're riding in a cropduster, you should always keep your head down.

If you are a reporter investigating or digging deep into something that involves the death of others the government is behind don't worry and nothing will happen to you as it did to your friend they made disappear.
They may shoot at you, disable your car, and plant drugs on you but you will come out of it all just fine! -

The most important take away on the flying and stunt work is that in 1978 it was all actually done by real pilots, real aircraft, and real time film works. The crash was done with models, but everything else including the Ford Mustang really did dive off the bridge. Today everything would be 200 mph, genuine CGI.
APOLLO FILM FOOTAGE: Big one's Stanley Kubrick, really BIG ONES!!
