it SHOULD be watched as a standalone movie.

What the heck? You were just PM ing me last week about what a jerk Dave is being, and now you're agreeing with him.
I pm'd you because you originally called me a doppelganger. I told you that this was me and that my account had been deleted, and I thought he was behind it. That doesn't mean that I can't agree with what he says. It's not like I'm inviting him to come to my house for a sleep over complete with smores and videogames.
Halloween III is one of the biggest, world renowned flops of all time. What are you talking about? III made like 12 million bucks or something, on probably a 3 million dollar budget. That's not 7 times the amount. It's 4.
According to this site it made 14.4 million and had a 2.5 million dollar budget. That comes out to almost 6 times its budget. How can that be considered a flop? It didn't lose money. Would you like to invest 25 dollars and get back 144? I fail to see the logic behind it. Like I said, had it lost money or not met expectations then I could see calling it a flop.
Look at the rating III has on here?
Do you really want to go there? I can show you Cheers' rating on here and show you a list of shows that you deem inferior that has higher ratings like I always do when you start preaching imdb ratings. Then you can change your tune and tell me that ratings are suddenly meaningless.
Don't call it a comeback. I've been here for years. -

Whoa, whoa. I'm not the first person to say III was a flop. The producers, writers, director, everyone having anything to do with the film knows it bombed at the BO. Why do you think they brought Myers back in the first place? BeCause III did so poorly.
RIP Gene Wilder. One of the funniest people of all time. RIP Matt Roberts. You were great. -

I'm not saying Halloween III was a huge success. I just don't agree that it bombed. Name drop all you want. Jesus Christ himself could appear in front of me right this second and say, "Halloween III bombed," and I wouldn't buy it.
Anything that makes money in proportion with its budget is good. Had it lost money, been expected to make much more than it did, or barely broke even then I could see it being called a bomb, but I don't see how they could expect much more than what it did.
Since you mentioned Halloween 4, would you call that movie one of the biggest flops of all time?

Rosenthal didn't say he didn't like the movie. He said your was a tough shoot. So was Jaws, but you think Spielberg hates it? What a dopey thing to say. He loved everyone who worked on it, the cast and whatnot. Only Carpenter never said anything positive. Wallace is an idiot. He directed the humongous failure that is III. He has no room to talk. I don't remember what the other two said.
