The 70's were the best time for horror, I'd say.
RIP Gene Wilder. One of the funniest people of all time. RIP Matt Roberts. You were great.

As I've said countless times: if you don't have the Sad then you don't have the Scary.
HmmmI had never thought of that, but it's a good point. Some of the best horror movies out there have something sad about them which can lead to something very scary. I'll ponder this for a while. Thank you!

Mostly, but not all. Some Disney classics, Wizard of Oz and such. Quite varied as well, I think.

Aye* While compiling, I wanted to embrace varied genres & even holiday specific fare which has stood the test of my time.

I agree Halloween does capture the "fall" feeling despite being filmed the spring and seeing palm trees way out in the distance. They did a good job with the fake leaves and the illusion of cool crisp air.
I agree Creepshow captures that fall look, too. It's one of my fave movies! Creepshow II is weak, but watchable and I never bothered with the third one either.

The early Harry Potters sometimes fit the bill, focused on entering/returning to school, & several months of autumn on screen.

Clue is a highly underrated film.
Movie Theater: Young Frankenstein 10/10. RIP Gene Wilder. One of the funniest people of all time.
