Quite possibly the best movie he has ever made. You don't see anyone make a film like this anymore. It is complex and mult-layered enough to be read in more than one way. This is a must see vampire movie. It is great.

One of his best films, however, I think the "dead" trilogy was better. Anyway, here's my list in preference order (I haven't seen Knightriders yet):
1 - Dawn of the Dead
2 - Day of the Dead
3 - Night of the Living Dead
          4 - Martin
          5 - Creepshow
6 - The Dark Half (so underrated)
          7 - Bruiser
          8 - The Crazies
9 - Land of the Dead
10 - Diary of the Dead
          11 - Monkey Shines
          12 - Two Evil Eyes
          13 - There's Always Vanilla
          14 - Season of the Witch/Hungry Wives
15 - Survival of The Dead
Yeah, well, you know, that's just like My opinion, man

This is definitely Romero's best non-zombie movie in the horror genre.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
