The last time I checked (2 minutes ago), Ireland is part of Great Britain and therefore its people can be referred to as "British". P.S. Even though he was born in Ireland, he was actually raised in Leeds, England. It's right here on IMdb. Please check your facts before you correct someone.

My husband corrected my mistake about Ireland's independence recently. But O'Toole did not grow up in Ireland, he grew up in England and attended the Royal Academy for Dramatic Arts. Seems to me, anyone who attends RADA can rightly be called a "British actor".

John Hurt wasn't bald in the film. He has hair on his head. I know about him not bathing, but wouldn't he smell so bad people couldn't be near him? Alan Parker should've then forced him to bathe if everyone complained.

Probably not, since he had to escape quickly. Originally, when he talks to Max, he thinks he'll be able to bribe Hamidou out of the insane asylum, but that doesn't work. After killing him in self-defense, he has to just escape.
