Does your software allow for "Likes?"

On some of my other forums, one of the most popular feature is the ability to "like" a post. It's just a great feature because good post wins lots of likes and it provides a really positive feedback for posters and encourages them to create more content for a board. There aren't any "thumbs down" to annoy posters, just positive feelings created when they make insightful or fun posts. I would really encourage the software designer to find a way to incorporate this feature on the board. I think it would be a big hit.

Why? What's the point of them? Especially when you can't say what you like about it or which part of a long post you like?
Why not just reply to the posts you like saying that you like it - and why?
I really dislike "likes" of Faceache and the like, especially because they count as new posts (on Facebook) and clog up the new posts notifications

I know what they are. I just don't see the point of them. Especially when you can't say what you like about it. It's pointless to just say that you "like" something without any explanation.
I know that many "social media" sites do them (that's one reason why I don't like them). But that's no reason why the IMDb forums should do them

I really, really like and approve and agree with that comment, especially the "I don't like them" part.
Plus, it wouldn't be long before someone would start badgering the site to create a LIKE badge.

I disagree. You don't like social media, so you don't understand how it works. If you post a lot in this board or read these boards almost no one take the time to say "nice post" The only time people respond to a post here is when then want to disagree. Likes give a person gets a sense of whether is post was well or poorly recieved. Isn't that the measure of truth? The post process here requires a few number of steps and a loss of your place reading a thread. A like is a simple one-click affair that doesn't lose your place on a page. Even using the emojis are cumbersome. I am a member of three different forums and adding a like feature - though at first people were skeptical always proved to be hugely popular. Who doesn't like positive feedback. And as I've said, the only feedback you get in response to posts here are negative ones 90 percent of the time. Adding like adds to a sense of belonging to a forum and being recognized for you contributions and raises the general sense of enjoyment.
