Nine years old when I saw it. It was awesome. I don't recall being bored by the credits like some others here. I remember thinking "This music is awesome like the Star Wars theme only better somehow."
I loved just about every aspect of this movie - and still do - except the time reversal. But by the "time" that happens the movie is almost over so you just roll with it. Christopher Reeve
      was
      Superman.

I grew up with the old George Reeves TV series, and went to see this at age 28 with high expectations. I wasn't disappointed. I loved every minute of it, so much so that I prefer the longer director's cut.
As to the "turning back time" question, that was very much a part of the '60s-'70s comics, with both Superman and The Flash travelling in time on a semi-regular basis. I was glad when they removed that in the late 1980s comics, but for a movie in 1978 it was part of the mythology. I just live with it.

My late dad took me to see it. I didn't get everything that was going on (I was also your age), but I was amazed by it. It's one of the best memories I have of my dad and me.

I have similar memories of me and my father seeing it, memories I cherish to this day.
Do, or do not. There is no try.

I went to see it with my friend when I was 13. A fun day at the movies.

I was also 9 when it came out and saw it twice in the cinema.
The opening score is one of the best I've seen yet. I actually believed a man
can fly. Man of Steel with all its fancy cgi doesn't hold a light to this.
RIP Christopher Reeve, you were the best.

I was actually working in the local movie theaters when this came out. I worked as the camera operator/etc. with my best friend at the time. There were two walk in theaters and a drive in!!! It was a great way to work and go to Junior year High School at the same time.
I also worked there with the airing of "Star Wars", "Grease", "Up in Smoke", "Saturday Night Fever" and last but not least "Alien" as well as a ton of other epic late 70's movies.
                    WELCOME!!!!
I got to see this recently and I actually had tears in my eyes a couple of times:
"Peter Pan flew with children Lois"
                    having the memories brought back.
                    K/H D
If there's a way to screw something up, the "O'Commie regime" will find it EVERY SINGLE TIME!! Only 104 more days left!

I saw this film with my mom, younger brother, and older sister at the age of six.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
