"this show sucked so much, because it is a canadian show!"
When I saw "why did this show suck so bad?" on the subject line, I knew there wasn't going to be any mature, constructive criticism, but "(it sucked) because it is a canadian show!"? Wow.
In retrospect, this really is an inane, childish show, but it was aimed at kids for crying out loud. I have seen much worse. The old fans are in their 20s, 30s and even their 40s and for most of them, it is just a harmless nostalgia item. -

No, it was actually genuinely funnier, more entertaining and cleverer than anything Nickelodeon produced after the show's cancellation. It was childish because it was for kids, but it's appeal isn't strictly limited to them. Some of the humor goes over their(or went over our) heads I'm sure.

I agree, this show is better than EVERYTHING Nick has on TODAY. Nick is now trash tv for kids. I recall my little brother watching a Fairly Odd Parents episode where Timmy hops through tv channels, and he enters a Simpsons-like program. he comments that something about people who watch it are stupid because the characters are stupid. Uh, so is Fairly Odd Parents. Really, the three major kid cable channels(Nickelodeon, Disney Channel and Cartoon Network) have all gone downhill(for Nick and Disney, the mid-90s; for CN, early 2000s). Hell, music channels are worth crap(they should just call them "Reality Show Channels", cause they don't play music videos anymore). Seriously, back in the 80s, when children's programs were not too offensive, families used to actually gather around and watch sitcoms, and music channels used to play NOTHING BUT music videos, non-stop!. Things were more REAL back then, not like the fake ass scripted reality shows we have now. It just seems like we've gone and convoluted pop culture to EXTENDED HEIGHTS of SUCKINESS. We are so HIGH up the crap-o-meter, we are clinging on to God's buttcheeks!!

Guy, get a life of your own, and stop trying to be a hater of current kid's TV-remember,
THESE SHOWS AREN'T FOR YOU!
You had your shows that you used to watch on Nick, now they've got theirs-let them have theirs, and shut the frack up about it. -

Yeah, right. It "sucked so bad" that it was Nickelodeon's first big hit, and had such an influence that the Green Slime it unleashed on the world became the ultimate symbol of Nickelodeon, and is still dumped on people at the Nick Awards.
In 2004, I visited the CJOH studios where the show was made, met Les Lye and several other cast members, and witnessed the final dropping of green slime in those studios before they were sealed off. I collected some of that slime in a bottle, which I still have in the depths of my freezer. It's the last remaining bit of that slime, because the others who collected bottles of it didn't put theirs in the freezer. Result: fermentation which made the bottles explode all over them! -
