    Right on!
    One of my faves.
I love the outtakes played while the credits roll.

The outtake is interesting because I don't know if it ruined the illusion of the movie or not. Peter Sellers felt it cost him the Oscar. Naturally, I keep both separate. It's a common feature to keep the audience staying for the credits or music. The oddest of all time has to be The Howling II when Sybil Danning exposed her breasts 17 separate times.

Terrific film, but I agree about the outtakes. It ruins the tone somewhat.
Sellers was never going to win. It was Hoffman's year, his film was a smash, many related to it and Sellers was just being egotistical if he thinks he was going to win.

I think I like the outtakes because he is trying to relay the message from what to me is the funniest part.
Where naive Chauncey leaves for the first time and innocently does not know who those street thugs are and doesn’t know he should be afraid of them.
Note when he sees the black doctor he relays the message to him thinking he must know who Raphael is because it was black kids who he encountered?
That would not be allowed in today’s movies for fear of upsetting the white SJW woke crowd.
Chauncey is just being innocent and doesn’t know any better so it’s a mistake that should be overlooked.
And who really are the naive ones?
Chauncey is to some degree but then so is everyone else who meets him.
From the black street thugs to the rich couple he ends up with to the president.
They are all clueless about who he is and what he means.
Like he meant something else with, “I like to watch.”
If they knew he was a gardener I don’t think they would have given him the time of day.

I think the private doctor was the only one who knew but decided to let it go at that. What's the harm anyway?

              Sorry.
That’s just where my mind goes with this woke nonsense that movies now have.
What is your take on him walking on water?
I think it’s because that was his first encounter with a body of water and he did not know he is not supposed to do that.

We should have gotten a sequel and watched him running for president.
He would say simplistic things at the debates and everyone would treat it like gospel!

I think that would be tough. I know what he is going to talk about: gardening. People will start getting tired of it and then make fun of him for it. It's called movie magic, and it can only last so long.

It’s fine as a standalone movie.
Just saying what could happen in a sequel and I doubt they will know he means gardening.
Unless the main private doctor exposes him for who he really is.
Which would ruin the magic, so you’re right.
Trivia time: That doctor then went to Antarctica where he was killed by The Thing!
                      LOL
Which I see you reviewed which I agree with.
                      Great questions about the ending.
I guess it’s up to us to decide.
I like to think they destroyed it and somehow get rescued.

                              I agree.
I don't think he wanted to ruin Eve's viewpoint of Chuancy esp. since she just lost her husband.
Interesting that she was younger but yet she was not a gold digger nor a trophy wife.
Or at least it didn't seem like it.
I think she and Ben really were in love with each other instead of using each other the way some power couples do like Trump and Melania.

I was rewatching a bit of it and it really is funny at how everyone misunderstands him and keeps on acting as if he is saying genius things by misinterpreting them.
Poor Eve didn't get it when he said, "I like to watch," and she goes ahead and does her thing and he was not even paying attention.
I feel conflicted if that scene was needed or not.
I saw the part with the maid where she ends up in a poverty situation but she was right about how white privilege is what helped that idiot get to where he was.
He also seems like an emotionless robot instead of human.
How can he not know emotions?
Feel free to share any thoughts as well as what do you think of this out of any other Sellers movies you have seen?
I think this one is my favorite including from the Pink Panther ones which just don't seem as clever or intelligent.
While they can be fun they are based more on slap stick IMO while BT is about being witty.
I started to watch, What's New Pussycat but gave up after about 2 minutes in because it just looked stupid.
Plus it was written by Woody Allen and I have a bias against him from his previous scandal.

Pretty sure he's autistic. His act will wear thin in time, so the best thing to do is show him off for a minute and then disappear, leaving everybody fascinated with his profound thoughts.

I hated Peter Sellers in Dr. Strangelove and Lolita; he's not funny or is too talkative. I used to be negative about him until I saw his brilliant, funny performances in The Party and A Shot in the Dark. The Blockhouse is an interesting, overlooked bleak picture because of the fictional situation. He played the role of Charlie Chan correctly in Murder by Death. I still need to watch more of his films such as What's New Pussycat? and The World of Henry Orient.

                                      Agreed about Strangelove.
Plus the movie is too long and boring.
Though I do appreciate him playing in three roles including the US president.
I think he is talented where he can do different accents.
Sellers overall is the type of actor I can appreciate who does different looks and sounds for the roles.
I started to check him out in I love you Alice B Toklas.
He plays a mainstream, uptight establishment lawyer who then somehow drops out and becomes a hippy.
I have not gotten to the latter part yet but so far so good.
It's kind of in the same vein as BT of a satire of sorts or a humorous look of the times.
This time it is hippie counter culture instead of the rich and powerful.

Try Fail Safe instead if you haven't seen it yet. It's more serious and well-acted. Virtually the same topic.
I haven't tried Alice B. Tolkas yet. I think that's the name of a gay group that Harvey Milk was a member of.

Added Fail Safe to my list.
I dunno if we talked about this one yet but another nuke war based movie is called Testament.
For me the scene where the bombs go off depicts the feeling of impending doom with the suspense perfectly.
You don't see the mushroom cloud but what they do with so little is enough to create such an eerie feeling.
I really felt like I was in the room with them.
Check it out and see if it brings up the same feeling at all for you.
                                          Sorry for the poor quality.
                                          It's all I could find.
                                          P.S.
The man who is wearing the tie and boots who first comes out onto the street and says, "Carol," is a young Kevin Costner.
