Was I the only one who cried?

I remember getting ready for a date in high schoolI had all my makeup on, started watching this movie, and when the guy arrived, I didn't have any makeup left from all the tears coursing down my cheeks. I have no doubt I'd cry again today at 34.

I watched this with my dad, brother, and uncle.
My dad is a big bad ex marine.
My brother who tries to be the machoist person on the earth
My uncle who is very similar to my brother.
And myself, at the time, a young teenage female.
All four of us cried, sobbed hysterically. That little kid was what did it when he was screaming, "WAKE HIM UP! I WANT CHAMP!"
Absolutely heartbreaking. I'm acting getting worked up just thinking of that part in the movie. -

Ah ok, well I didnt cry not sure why. If it wasnt for Jon Voight I wouldnt watch this movie more then 1 time. Ricky totally overracts IMO, and I can think of MANY movies that gets to me more then this one. I just think the ending is kind of over the top.

I first watched this film when I was 5 and sobbed my little heart out. I watched it again about 3 years after that and sobbed my little heart out. I have seen in about 8 more times, the last time being 2 weeks ago, and I still sob my heart out at this film.
Wake up champ, champ, champ, wake up. Thats me sobbing again. -

I'm guilty, tooI had seen very small bits and pieces, but never saw the whole thing until I was 25 years old. I cried so much throughout this movie I gave myself an anxiety attack (not kidding in the least), but I think I was more affected than I normally would have been because young Rick Schroeder bears a striking resemblance to my nephew, Gabriel. I kept seeing him when I was watching Rick and it was completely breaking my heart! Hey, I'm not ashamed I cried. It's a very emotional movie, a wonderful movie.
I solemnly swear that I am up to no good. -

Easily one of the only movies ever made where it would be almost impossible NOT to cry at the end. Just watched it last night after not seeing it for probably 20 years, and I cried easily. Great job by Ricky Schroeder.
