Ridiculous! She would have been better off hiding the kid in the house. They referred to him as Sprog….

I thought that was his name until I saw you use it as Australian slang.
Do you say "tyke" or "imp" down there?

Sprogs is common, but is more of a Bogan term.

              And what does "Bogan" mean?

Of course it's upsetting. It's supposed to be.
Just because I'm not on THEIR side, doesn't mean I'm on YOURS.

The first time I saw that scene when I was a little girl, it ****ed me up. And ever since then, it is the only scene in this movie burned into my memory. Whenever I think of this movie, that scene replays in my mind.
Well that, and the time Max spent with his family at home.

It's a very brutal and upsetting scene.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.

Of course it is. In so many ways that is the point of the movie.

What makes it worse is that Max was an idiot for leaving his precious family to go run around barefoot in the woods instead of defending the farm

Well, in all fairness, you don't really SEE the baby getting killed, but the implication is upsetting and I belive that's the idea.
