Basically the outfits all look the same and all look professionally made, with their names on it, with a good font and everything. This is not very smart for a gang, especially if they are being hunted and on the run. I thought that the idea of a gang was to blend in somewhat, and not stick out like sports team at an arena.
    Unless I am wrong?

Maybe they placed the order and when the Warriors gang came to pick up the outfits, they decided not pay and just took them.

They were male prostitutes, and their clients were some of the most talented costume designers on Broadway. Sadly they were all wiped out during the AIDS crisis, RIP.

They made a point of wearing their vests even when the leader of the Orphans told them to take them off while in Orphans' territory. They said "We're not hiding who we are just because some whore shakes her ass." They didn't know at that point that every gang in the city was after them. They were uncertain as to whether the truce was still on, and they did not yet know they were being blamed for the murder of Cyrus.
Granted, it probably would have been smarter to ditch their vests and scatter - so they could blend in and not look like a gang.
As to where they got their outfits, that's a good question. I suppose it's possible that they could at least be able to acquire enough from petty theft and that sort of thing - at least enough to buy a vest. Perhaps there might be some apparel store or tailor's shop in their territory whom they could pressure or intimidate into making their vests at a discount.
The gang that wore those purple suits looked they paid even more for their outfits.

That was the gang called the Boppers, and they looked more like an an a cappella group than a gang. What gang in the world wears neckties?? Way too well dressed and professional looking to be a street gang!
Anyway, regarding on how the Warriors afford their vests and other gang attire, don't most gangs engage in drug dealing or some other illegal activity that brings in money? That would be my guess.

Motorcycle gangs wear elaborate patches on their vests- I'm sure they don't make them themselves- they pay a tailor to make them. I'm sure it was the same with the Warriors. I can imagine prospective members having to do all sorts of things in an effort to earn that vest and become one of the gang.

You make a good point. The smartest move lose the vests, split up, and take the subway home. But we wouldn't have much of a movie.

And that is not who they are.
They are Warriors, first and foremost. Their lives revolve around being Warriors. The would rather die fighting to protect their association with the gang than to momentarily hide who they are.
This is similar to Christians being beheaded instead of pledging allegiance to Mohammed.
