I recall some European movies with scenes of flatulence before Blazing Saddles in 1974. There were 2 comedy spaghetti westerns from 1970/71 called They Call me Trinity/Trinity Rides again, and one of these movies had a running joke about a baby that was constantly breaking wind. Pasolini's version of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales from 1972 also has a scene where a girl farts in a guy's face.

"Pasolini's version of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales from 1972 also has a scene where a girl farts in a guy's face."
That's a good one. The fart was in the original Chaucer as well. It was something like this.
Ande thene she lett flee a farte.
Poore hende Nicholas eclepped, "A FARTE! A FARTE!"
I'm just making up the details, but it was something like that.
Hate leads to anger.
Anger leads to the Dark Side.
This is a Haiku. -

Speaking of great artists and farts (fartists?)
I just remembered one of my favorite Shakespeare quotes:
"Farting is such sweet sorrow."
That's beautiful writing.
Hate leads to anger.
Anger leads to the Dark Side.
This is a Haiku.
