I had heard years ago that she was offered to reprise her role as "Echo" but turned it down due to scheduling conflicts as she was playing Patsy Cline in Coal Miner's Daughter.

It's because Orville got her pregnant. Before giving birth, echo changed her name to Ellen and married Clark W. Griswold and then had Audrey.
