The guy was complaining that a bottle of coca-cola cost 50 cents which was a lot for him. How much was it supposed to be? 40 cents?

Back in the late 70's to early 80's some stores had bottles of coke for 25 - 45.

I forgot to add the bottle size was either 16 or 20oz. I was only 6 in 1980 so I could be wrong 🙂

Back in 1979 Coke bottles were half the size they are now and cost twenty five cents. In the early to mid 80s Coke bottles made a jump from thirty five cents to sixty five cents, so Tony was justified in being angry with his Coke doubling in price. That would be like today a Coke going from $1.50 to $2.75 or $3.00. Would you pay almost three bucks for a 16 ounce bottle of Coke?

The Dasani water bottles at our work vending machine go for $2.00 fricken dollars. For a bottled water?? Coincidentally it's inside a Coca Cola vending machine.

You realize that this was made in 1980 right? A bottle of Coke usually cost about 25 cents back then.

What's funny is he says, "That's only 50 cents." I will say coke is expensive now. I work in a grocery store and most of the time a bottle of soda is around $1.75. Also about the poster who complained about Daisni water being $2, a large container of it at my movie theater costs $5 and I don't have a choice since the soda fountain has no water in it. Thing is I don't like soda.

Get an interview with Coca-Cola and the prices for their own cans in their breakroom for a 16oz are still around 25 - 35!
But yeah, I remember Cokes being around 35, pull open the door, and pull the coke out. Miss those days. Around 1997 a gas station by me still had the 3 different glass bottle sizes. 8oz, 10oz and 12 or 16oz bottles! Any glass bottles you see NOW come from Mexico, and there's only 1 size. 😞
I still miss the taste of Mr Pibb Pibb Extra I think has taken the buds off my tongue it's so over sweet. Miss the more pruny flavor.
