It seems that Danny & Maggie we're together, and Lacey took Danny to her uncle's house to have sex with him, right after Danny had sex with Maggie
or did i miss something, Danny wasn't with Maggie.
or Danny was just having a little fun with Lacey (aka cheating). -

WTF is wrong with you people? As the guy above me says, any guy would have banged her. Damned straight. Especially if you're the guy who was just ogling her at the dinner, at the pool, at everywhere . . . and she came onto you like gangbusters.
Decent? F that. Horny wins out over decent. Especially when you're 17 and she's hot as fuq.
I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well. -

You've gotta be f'g kidding me. Someone as hot as Lacey - who you were just completely ogling the previous night at dinner - wants to jump your bones. You're 17. Your hormones are raging. You are at your sexual peak. You're telling me you're going to say no? Get da fuq outta here.

Don't think anyone was putting that much thought into "character motivation and development".
Having said that, I think the Lacey liaison fits in just fine Yes, Danny's character does seem to be the "decent" sort BUT, keep in mind, he IS just a teenager and a boy. Two factors that almost guarantee notoriously stupid decision-making at times.

I agree. I watched it with a friend and we both think it isn't right that he got away with his affair with Lacey. His girlfriend Maggie never finds out. I think though the point of Maggie saying she's pregnant to Danny is to make him feel guilty about said affair with Lacey.
Green Goblin is great! -

I think that a lot of people are reading into this through the rose colored glasses of modern day.
This was the late 70s and Lacey didn't wear a bra because of the women's sexual revolution. The concept of "free love" wasn't entirely dead yet and the notion that you could sleep with someone without "going steady" with them wasn't entirely foreign.
When Maggy says she is pregnant she jumps quickly to "it might not be yours" and although Danny dismisses it, Maggy clearly didn't think it was unacceptable for her to drop "I've slept with other guys" towards him. She also told Danny to stay away from Lacey because of her loose reputation, which makes me think that whatever her and Danny had together wasn't terribly serious. -

A lot of what we see of Danny is incomplete. It was supposed to be more of teen sex/romance comedy with the big name guys in small cameos. It looks like they were going for the typical situation where the protagonist starts out relatively innocent, starts becoming an beep as he gets tied up with the rich people, and then ultimately chooses his values over future success.
Too much got cut from that plot, but they ended up leaving too much in, so things don't make a lot of sense (e.g. Maggie's pregnancy scare is two scenes with no real relevance to the plot).
