Just watched with a group of friends I've seen it before but they hadn't was fun to watch how they reacted
i wasn't sure if they would think it was dull or tense they definitely loved it.
the art gallery scene is so insane and funny even though nothing seems to happen the back and forth between her and the guy and the glove and chasing then cat and mouse game and then the cab plus the music building it all to a crescendo awesome
even though it seems fairly insignificant at the time it turns out to be a huge moment my friends were all asking as the movie was on
"did you see that? someone picked up the glove. who picked up the glove?" lol
    and there's a great shot
of the killer in a crowd scene
that's really creepy when you see it again

It's almost like De Palma built the film around this one scene. Typically excellent set piece by the director.
Shame he doesn't make these sort of film's anymore.
Was it a millionaire who said "Imagine no possessions"?

In a film loaded with remarkable sequences, I have to agree the art museum is a standout and, as you say, hugely assisted by the music. It's Freudian in its examination of Kate's struggle to break out of her male-dominated world viewso many delicious "chance" detailsthe gorilla painting juxtaposed with that of the wryly watching woman, Kate's obvious then mysterious entries in her day book based on her silent observations of the seemingly inconsequential events around her, the groping boy friend and his prudish date, the disobedient girl child, then the shocking arrival of "the man." This leads to Kate's anxious expression of interest followed by her gaffe of inadvertently revealing her wedding ring thus (intentionally?) driving off her thrilling potential suitor, a shock that causes her to forget the offending glove. Then the hand that retrieves it (a premonition of Booby on the outside steps), the stud brazenly laying that glove on her shoulder, her automatic response of outrage, his departure leading to that swirling cat and mouse through the museum's halls and galleries, the taunting male always a step ahead of Kate while clearly leading her on, climaxing with the heady assignation that turns out to be Kate's death. And all of it "led" by a man who could be her own husband a decade earlier and minus about 50 less lbs.
I've hardly even scratched the surface of the episode's subtleties. What Hitch takes an entire film to do, De Palma encapsulates in a single rapid sequence. One day (I hope) De Palma will be recognized for the unique and original genius he is.
Religion is like a rocking chair a lot of work to get nowhere.

Great as the Museum scene is, I've always thought that Hitchcock did it first with the long scene of Scottie following Madeleine by car in 'Vertigo' and the museum scene was yet another of DePalma's
          homages
          .
But the museum scene is my favorite in the film, and I agree Angie Dickenson was fantastic in it. Everything about her; it was as if you could tell what she was thinking.

That sequence is a sublime example telling a story through visuals alone. It's positively mesmerizing due to the fact that it's so well shot, scored, and edited.

Quality acting by Angie Dickinson, too. She conveys a lot just through expressions and body language.

Does anyone know which gallery or museum it's supposed to be?
