When you suffer from mental illness as Donna does, it makes those tasks that much harder. Both people have to be committed and willing to put in the work, which unfortunately, most are not.

Honestly? I married my best friend. We try to keep the lines of communication open and never go to bed angry at one another.
He's laid back, light-hearted, and outgoing, whereas I'm more reserved, acerbic, and introverted, so even though we are opposites personality-wise, we compliment each other. Plus, outside of that, we share a lot of common interests.

That could be a form of self-sabotaging, or maybe you enjoy unraveling the mystery, and once you get to know a person, you lose all interest because you feel there's nothing left to uncover.
Some of the best and longest lasting relationships were formed around friendships. Relationships are a partnership, but you have to be friends to have a successful, happy union.
