Both are really great movies, but I felt more sadness in the elephant man than grave of the fireflies even I watched grave of the fireflies before The elephant man.
I'll try the italian movies thanks for the suggestions. -

This movie is so powerfully moving that watching the original trailer alone will make you sob. There are about 10 scenes in this movie that are touching, three of which are likely to make you lose it.

I don't think so, however Hachi: A Dog's Tale had me bawling. It is based on a true story and is a "remake" of Hachiko: A Dog's Story.
Bambi and Black Beauty made me cry but this one really did me in.
I had the chance to work with Michael Jackson who was as brilliant as they come.

OMG! I was just about to write this. Hachi is by far the most painful movie I have ever seen. I cried the entire time and for at least an hour afterwards. Witnessing undying devotion like that absolutely tears my soul apart.
