As a kid not only did I enjoy the Ewoks in ROTJ but I hated Chewbacca with a passion. I thought his screams were extremely annoying and each of his appearance seemed to be slowing down the movie. Every time I re-watched the movie, I would apprehend the moment when he chokes Lando.

Chewie wasn't that bad.
I hated 3-CPO.
Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.

I'd dare say that Chewie may not be the most beloved
SW
character, but he's probably the least hated.
Not that your opinions aren't valid, but I'd wager Chewie haters are in the minority.

When I was a kid I always mixed up the words wookie and ewok. The ewoks look like they ought to be called wookies, and wookies look like they ought to be called ewoks.
