    Fresh and such a departure from the first movie which is so unlike most other sequels.

      "Not a Sequel, Part of a Trilogy" — Jamie Kennedy (
      SCREAM 2
      )
      I myself do consider it a Sequel though.
      However, I actually don't consider it to be the Best Sequel of All Time.
      I think that it is 1 of the Best.

        It's certainly the best Star Wars sequel. The Last Jedi was also different from The Force Awakens yet I don't consider it a good sequel.

          They were on a pretty good run there until Skywalker which is just a rehash of Jedi.
          Funny thing is that they were both the third film in their respective series.

              When it comes to Movie Sequels, I do realize that I am in the minority on this one but I myself actually think that the Best Sequel of All Time is actually the 1986 Movie "
              ALIENS
              ".

                The best sequel of all time is The Thing. The original was lame.

                  That's a remake, not a sequel

                    The 1982 Movie was a remake, the 2011 Movie was a prequel to the 1982 remake (I actually like both Movies).

                      Certainly a strong argument can be made for it being the best sequel. It takes a lot of what worked in the first Star Wars and turns it, but it's smart enough to not just be a rehash. Things are different. Character interactions and relationships have evolved. And there are ramifications from the first movie.
                      So many stories, so little time.
