There were suggestions on another Website that banned Members donate $1,000 for reinstatement and even ONE offense such as inadvertently hijacking a thread would cause rebanment and the Poster does not get their $1,000 back. Nimda, would you go for this? A $1,000 reinstatement fee and even one wrong move is a ban and no reimbursement

I don't think nimda would ever do what you're asking.

I don't think anyone in the world would pay $1,000 to post on a message board. Most probably wouldn't even pay $1.

Someone making $10.00/hr (the likely wage of 80% of the posters here) would only need to work 100 hours to make $1,000 (before taxes). In that context, I dare say many have paid well over $1,000 in opportunity cost to post here!

Because they're posting while at work/instead of working?

One simply cannot do all the work they are required to do if they are also posting nonstop. Their chances of advancement drop significantly because they will not be able to hide their lack of commitment to their work and their bosses, clients, and coworkers will see that. That’s the real opportunity cost that is valued much higher than $1,000. Their complacency will cost them.

But you’re right, no one in their right mind would actually pay $1,000 cash to post on a message board.
