MovieManCin2 is doing one of his right wing rants about Bolsheviks, so I'm posting Menshevik posters. They were the moderate opponents of the Bolsheviks.

I prefer the Bolsheviks. In the whole 'gradualism vs immediatism' debate, I side with immediatism. The Mensheviks were gradualists, they only wanted incremental change. 'Democratic socialism' would've probably failed in Russia in 1917. There was just too much at stake and the czarists and other counter-revolutionary forces would've gotten the upper hand if the Bolsheviks hadn't consolidated power. Hence, the necessity of the October Revolution. Lenin was right.

Of course, and the October Revolution was one of the most important events in world history. And there was a flowering of culture and art in Russia as well. That was until Stalin came along and destroyed it. The Mensheviks are analogous to the Democratic Party in the U.S., tepid liberals who do nothing to reform the system.
The only thing I can say in Stalin's favor was that he was perhaps trying to implement Marx's dictatorship of the proletariat. But if he was, he failed miserably at that as well.
