    One of the most annoyingly stupid supporting characters in sitcom history. We've all seen the "dumb cop" satire before, but he took it well beyond its limits. And honestly I don't think the character did much for the show overall.

      I'm finding his humor quite enjoyable as I'm watching "The Cat Story" on "Gimme A Break.

        he was not that bad I thought he was funny did u know before he died he was dating all in the family jean stapelton

            He actually was in the pilot episode. He is the cop who brings Katie home. I guess the writers thought the actor was good so they kept him. I had no problem with him.
