Desperately Needs A Remake

Why do a reboot when they can carry on with the franchise of the Cannonball Run? What I suggest that they do is set it up where all of the main characters got married and had children. The children take over to race in the Cannonball Run that they heard their parents talk about. Therefor having today's generation see the actors and actresses that they know about. You mix in some of the original actors of The Cannonball Run 1 and 2 so that today's generation learns about the actors of the past. I would rather see it done like that than a remake.

I can't post a link, as the news came from a friend recently who worked at Silver Pictures for a good number of years. Warner know that The Cannonball Run was a cult classic that made great box office and know that with The Fast And Furious series that car action movies make money. Apparently the idea behind it is to approach it as an 'Expendables' style cast with Reynolds returning as race organiser this time to connect to the first 2 films. That is all that Paul M. could tell me.

I agree that none of those films need to be remade.

No it should not be done as a remake because if you look at the original films that have been made into remakes have been major flops at the box office.
If they did want to do something here is my suggestion to do a third installment to the Cannonball Run franchise. You just make it where all the main characters in the first two films had children and Burt Reynolds, Roger Moore, and the other original actors make appearances in the movie here and there. This would then spark up the next generation of Cannonballers with the actors of today.
When Roger Moore played James Bond he was more of a womanizer than Daniel Craig is as the new James Bond. No disrespect but I would rather see the James Bond franchise stick to its roots and not be altered due to modern times. This is just my opinion about it. Plus, today's generation and future actors need to watch some of these films to learn more about the actors and actresses of the past instead of watching the modern movies. They can learn a lot from the past. -

What he should do is leave the original alone and come up with another title that makes it his without making a remake.

Yeah, you're an idiot.
Ever watch Martin and Lewis, Laurel and Hardy, the Marx Brothers, Three Stooges, Abbott and Costello, Jack Benny, Fred Allen, Flip Wilson, Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Andy Griffith, Don Knotts. Bill Cosby, George Burns, et al?
How about putting Seth Rogen in an ORIGINAL IDEA instead of yet another disasterous remake like Green Hornet?
Grow up already, and enjoy ALL the generations of talent.
