This movie has more in common with an episode of Star Trek especially that ending. Aside from the opening pan shot, there is really nothing ALIEN - esque in this film.
The Corman film that most resembles ALIEN is the 1982 release "FORBIDDEN WORLD".
This played theaters in my hometown as "PLANET OF HORRORS" but the poster in the lobby was titled "MIND WARP AN INFINITY OF TERROR".

This movie is more of a remake of an early 60's B film, JOURNEY TO THE 7th PLANET, which had the same basic 'monsters from the mind' premise, but was brought down by a very low budget.

If anything, this movie is a near cannibalization of Battle Beyond the Stars in terms of sound effects, and some visual motifs. Roger Corman's sci-fi movies tend to be similar in appearance, or even in visual effects.
"Space Raiders" practically cannibalized every visual effects shot from Battle Beyond the Stars.

The only element resembling 'Alien' is the setting where we have a crew trapped inside their Spaceship and they are encountering disturbing creatures. That's it. The theme and message are totally different than 'Alien'.
G-O-T may be a cheesy dime-store Horror flick, but at least it offers an old and timeless philosophical message.

The way I see it, the set design
                      for the corridors and bulkheads
at the beginning of the film sort
of act as a template for the look
                      of Hadley's Hope in "Aliens".
                      Obviously, there are also comparisons
to be seen with the corridors of the
                      Nostromo in "Alien".
So this is how liberty dies-with thunderous applause?

It's Forbidden World that is an Alien ripoff, not this one.
