One of the many unsatisfying aspects of this film is the death of the prowler. That exploding head shot lasted all of 500 milliseconds. They cut away from it too quickly. Instead of getting a classic head explosion right up there with the likes of Scanners and Maniac, we instead only got a very brief glimpse into a nasty effect that should've been much more special than it was. Films like this are pretty much a waste of time if they don't get the money shots right, and this one didn't in my opinion, despite its reputation for having quality slasher death scenes. This is a 4/10 even accounting for genre.

I agree. I just don't agree with the score you gave it. Yes though it could have been longer and it did cut away way to fast. I would give this either an 8/10 or a 9/10 or dare I say a 10/10.
