Crappiest movie of ALL TIME!?!?!
You think "S.O.B." is THE worst feature film ever made? Bar NONE? Over the past century or so?
I guess you've only seen one or two other films in your life then.
B-List stars? How many Oscars have you won or been nominated for, again? -

I haven't seen this film in about 15 years, but from what I remember it was very funny. However, I can understand why some people don't like it. It is one of those films that you either get, or you don't. It helps if you know a lot about the inner-workings of Hollywood because that is what it is satirizing.

Some people just aren't in to a sophisticated adult comedy whose humor is derived from intelligent writing and not just sex jokes and party/bathroom humor. Hopefully someday the OP will be old enough to appreciate it.

"Some people just aren't in to a sophisticated adult comedy whose humor is derived from intelligent writing and not just sex jokes and party/bathroom humor".
Oh I see - so all this broad slapstick and yelling those mostly banal, obvious jokes was the result of "intelligent writing". Interesting. As for the toilet humor and sex jokes, however, I distinctly seem to remember one or two or rather many more instances of such in SOB. Not that there's anything wrong with this kind of thing per se, but just as with all other kinds of jokes, for each one that worked, there were many that fell flat. And to top everything off, this Mulligan guy who played Felix, gave what must rank amongst the absolute worst comedic leading performances in film history - literally nothing this guy did or said was humorous in the slightest.

The bestand ONLY film out there so far that takes the TV, film and movie industry and satirizes it for what it is, and those in it. Total and completely S.O.B's all out for themselves and the almighty publicity and dollar no matter what the cost to others, as long as they themselves profit.
Those that don't get it, have bought into the BS. And that's fine of enough statement too.
That's all there is to say, IMHO.

Have to agree with OP.
That guy from Empty Nest is so OTT I almost had an epileptic seizure.
Then again I don't like B Edwards, including Pink Panther.
See Network; a sharper satire about a similar profession. Craps on this. -

Phantom, why are you even on IMDB? If you are expressing your true opinion, then you have no knowledge of or affection for film whatsoever.
For those of us who do, or live/work in or around the industry, we can tell you most assuredly that SOB is so right on the money it is damned near being a documentary. There isn't a false note in the script, and we know exactly who all the characters are being portrayed.
Ah well, welcome to 2010, where vampires and Jennifer Aniston and CGI rule! -

I was in my 20s and knew this was a smart satire on Hollywood. I am really surprised at how many people dislike it.
Yes, a little upsetting to Julie Andrews breasts although they are very nice.
How many actresses have you read about that talk about how important it is to get nude for the part. YAWN. And the drugs. Rehab is summer camp for stars. -

And your posts will go to the top of the list of posters I wont ever be reading again.
