10 is more cerebral, more restrained, but SOB is just funnier as Edwards really lets himself and all his actors give brilliantly funny, over-the-top performances for all its worth, as well as getting sweet revenge on all the philistines and knuckleheads that permeate the Hollywood establishment! A movie that really said what needed saying.

I like both films, but I
d probably say S.O.B. is my pick out of the two. The scenes with Holden, Robert Webber, and Robert Preston are great, and Richard Mulligan is excellent in it as well. It is a very dark, kind of morbid comedy, but its typical Blake Edwards stuff for the time. -

"10" was an enormous hit and became a cultural touchstone. It also made a movie star of Dudley Moore.
"S.O.B." is great, dark fun and perhaps a bit more substantial, but it was a box office flop despite its stellar cast and, as such, had no impact on pop culture whatsoever.

They're both great films, but S.O.B. definitely has a darker edge and it may not be for all tastes. 10 is definitely a more mainstream comedy, but if I had a choice of watching one or the other, I would choose S.O.B.

O.M.G.!!!
When "10" came out, I was so bored by the big hype of what's -er name..Bo Derek, that I have a fond distate for the film. Fond being I love Dudley, distaste that I didn't like Bo. But she in that part said all that needed to be said about the situation Edwards was trying to get across.
Now S.O.B. was hilarious and funny as heck against Hollywood of the time.
A lovely satire without "naming names" but many knew who was being spoofed. My finniest scene? Robert Vaughn..the debonaire actor (till then, anyway!) of Man From Uncle playing this tough-butt, high powered producer and he's negotiating a "situation"on the phoneand then Edwards does a wide shot and shows what he's wearing.
Edwards was 'telling' on alot of folks in this and it came out funny.
There's no right, there's no wrong, there's only popular opinion.
