The chemical plant that was planning to run a road through the close eventually bought everybody out and they all moved out to pursue their lives in different parts of the country such as Jimmy Corkhill moving in with Lyndsey and Barry Grant (who she married). Ron and Bev who had gotten back together moved on with their son Josh as did the other familys including nikki shadwick and Tinhead. There was suppossed to be a spin off dvd afterwards involving Tinhead and Steve but it never happened.
At the end it just showed the different families moving out and then eventually getting on with there lives, also cutting to scenes of the close abandoned and the famous sign, which Jimmy Corkhill had added a 'd' to, now reading 'Brookside Closed'. Before leaving also, Jimmy turned on the taps in all the houses to flood them so as to not make an easy job for the construction workers that were coming after.
It was actually quite sad and a good way to end possibly the best show made in Britain.EVER!!!
I think that ya can watch the final episode on Youtube so ya might be able to see it there if thats any use!
        BRING BACK BROOKIE!!!!

there was the 'Unfinished Business' DVD which was about Tinhead O'Leary & Steve Murray getting revenge on Emily's killer. There was going to be another DVD called 'Settling Up' where Barry Grant goes after his brothers murderers once they are released from prison.

Never got made - probably due to a mixture of poor sales for 'Unfinished Business', legal wangling and being stuck in Development Hell.

The company seemed more interested in putting all their energies into Hollyoaks. Not long after the release of Unfinished business I wrote asking when the next DVD was coming out, only to be told they decided not to bother. What a waste, when there is rubbish like east-bloody-enders still trotting out the same old Scheie every episode
If you know what I mean, great! If you don't you should probably read more
