I like the show, it's funny but the character of Diane is awful. I've no idea why Sam would put up with a woman like that.

I was so happy when Shelly Long left that show. Kirstie Alley's Rebecca was much more enjoyable.
Diane just wasn't likeable, and I agree. Why would Sam even be remotely interested in someone like her?

I watch the show and I think she is great.
And Sam largely did not put up with her.
That was why it worked so well. They were always at odds. They fought constantly.

The whole cheers cast apparently hated Shelley long. If she triggered you its probably because her and her character were one and the same.

She was annoying but that was part of her character. I feel she left around the right time as the relationship she had with Sam was getting tiresome.

I thought she was annoying as **** as a kid, but appreciate her much more as an adult. Waaay better than Rebecca, who was hotter, but just such a fake person.
