What would it be like if a movie icon went back in time to sn iconic tv setting? Movie mesh ups. Rambo in Mayberry. Sgt. John Rambo "DON'T TREAT ME LIKE A BUM. I KILLED FOR THIS COUNTY. ..AND NOT AFRAID TO KILL AGAIN."
Sheriff Taylor "Now that certainly won't be necessary, First, I want to thank you for your honorable service. 2nd, I detect anger in your voice. My friend runs a hospital a few towns over that specializes in stress reduction counselingbattle fatigue recovery."
Rambo "YOU GONNA TRY TO MAKE ME GO AND CAUSE ME TO EXPLODE?" Taylor "Here's her card. Strictly voluntary. Go. Don't go. Stay in and talk. Leave. All your choice."
Rambo "Really? In that case, I guess I'll give it a try." He exits. Barney "He's lucky he left when he did. I got some Ti Kwan Dough I've been meaning to try out." Opie "You think he'll get better Pa?" Taylor "I sure hope so son. He's a real American hero." The End

      Or:
Andy invites Rambo to stay in his house for the night. Aunt Bee cooks them a delicious pot roast. Andy, Barney and Rambo sit on the porch and sing some old folk tunes. Then Rambo retires to the guest room.
Unfortunately, Rambo wakes up in the middle of the night with Vietnam hallucinations, goes berserk and kills everyone. As the sun rises, we see him walking out of town whistling the show's theme song.

Barney would likely try to **** with Rambo. Wrong move.

Yeah, but it would be a tough battle when Barney gets Floyd, Otis, Goober and Gomer as his deputies to help him catch Rambo.

I think Rambo would completely outsmart them all. Also they'd all get yelled at by Andy for doing so.

I don't know about that. Gomer has a lot of military smarts. He learned from the best.Sgt. Carter. : )

I don't consider the Gomber Pyle army show to be in continuity with the Andy Griffith Show.

Floyd the barber looks like a pretty mean hombre too. I have a feeling he could take care of himself.as long as he's not afflicted with barber's claw. For those not familiar, Floyd got barber's claw when everybody in Mayberry was getting haircuts at the same time.

Gomer Pyle was in the Marines not the Army. 🙂

One of the best threads I've read on here. Amusing and thought-provoking. I love the OP's take on how it would all go down. I'd watch that skit if ever it was made, obviously with some lookalikes for some of the roles but Sly could still play Rambo. SNL could do it.

He would be put in a cell with Otis Campbell and Ernest T. Bass. Of course, the circuit judge gets around to Mayberry only every 2 weeks or so, so on the weekend Rambo would have to go fishing with Andy and Opie (since there would be no one to watch the jail) and made to eat Aunt Bee's fried chicken (because of course, that is the only thing that Aunt Bee ever cookedfried chicken).
Meanwhile, Barney would be absolutely overwhelmed that the Mayberry jail had such an important prisoner, Rambo being a CMH winner and all.

I am sorry Pkryderbut I don't see Andy telling Rambo to go starve to death like Teasle did.
                          Green Goblin is great!

Andy was a nice guy and thats why i thought of the thread, Mayberry was the ultimate small town filled with honest people that had respect, Teasle and his sheriffs were terrible tyrants running a corrupt small town, Andy ran a small town with class, compassion and respect, Andy was a great guy, Barney was an ass at times but Andy controlled him.
If Barney, Goober, Gomer and Floyd the barber tried to mess with John Rambo he might just kill them all easily, Barney would try to assert his authority and control the situation, and Rambo would kill him and things would be terrible, but Andy would never allow it to reach that because Andy would buy Rambo a meal or cook him dinner, let him use the shower and have Floyd give him a shave and haircut, Andy would take care of Rambo and maybe even offer him a job.
Andy was a great guy, Teasle should have watched that show and tried to be like Andy was, he would have had a happier town and not been so corrupt, i guess that they didnt watch shows like that in Hope.

I could see Gomer helping him get a job at Wally's filling station.

I think that Andy would be very nice towards Rambo, now if Barney found him first he would have given him an attitude and tried to mess with him, that escalates things very quickly, Barney would have to pay for that, Andy might take his side too, but Mayberry had justice and was welcoming, it would have been a different movie, Rambo might have even been offered a job and asked if he wanted to stay too.

I think there would be two more graves in the Mayberry Cemetary.
                                  Andy's and Barney's.
                                  Maybe Gomer's too.
