I think this would be seen as the Deliverance of the 80's. Its a shame Stallone rockyfied it

Well, the original ending were to kill Rambo (as in the novel). The end would had seen Colonel Trautman forced to shoot and kill Rambo, just as Rambo is about to shoot the injured Teasle and kill him.

Rambo II is the greatest straight-up action movie of all time. The Rambo trilogy is greatest action series of all time. Much like Rocky, there's no way you could just stop at one, and retooling the format for the sequels was ingenious because it gave us bigger and cooler things but still staying to true to the original character.

While I like Rambo 2 and 3 I still think all the movies including the first pale in comparrison to the novel. I also hate how they turned Teasle from being sympathetic and feeling regret for his actions to him being a stupid jerk bully who won't let Rambo get a bite to eat and ends up being so hateful he refuses to admit to any wrong doing. Not to mention Teasle in the book listened to Trautman about Rambo unlike the movie where no matter what Trautman says he insists Rambo is a stupid jerk who broke the law.
            Green Goblin is great!

The greatest action series of all time? I'm sorry, but I disagree. For me, the greatest action series of all time is the Die Hard series. Not only do they have great action, but they also have smart and well-developed plots, as well as great villains and memorable one-liners.

I'm sure there is an alternate dimension where there were no sequels to First Blood. But I'm glad I don't live in it.

The sequels are great 80s action movies, like Arnold's. But yeah, they go against everything this movie stands for.
