Well, that can end all sorts of ways with all kinds of scenarios so I dunno how that can be considered as canon.
If people wanna go with that, that's fine.
I prefer us to come up with our own ideas and for myself I have none.
Either they froze to death or somehow survived and were rescued.
As for the prequel, **** it, that is not canon.
It is ****ing stupid and lame is what it is.
Yeah, I checked it out here and there and every time I did I found it unwatchable.

I think Carpenter endorsed the game, so the events are considered as an official continuation of the movie. Basically Childs froze to death and Mccready managed to escape via a helicopter.
And yes, the prequel is horrible, most of it was studio interference getting rid of all the puppets and animatronics the special effects team made and replacing it with bad cgi, although there were issues beyond just the bad effects.

And where did Mac get a chopper since the base one was damaged?
The Norwegian one?
Which reminds me.
How come we never saw that one again in the orig. movie?
there were issues beyond just the bad effects.
Such as?
One of my personal issues is being all woke and **** and having a woman as a lead.
We didn't need the prequel when we got the back story from the previous movie both from seeing the Nor. camp and what The Thing can do.
This is one of those rare movies where the first remake is better than the orig.

No it’s never explained. It’s possible he was captured by the bio-tech company that was trying to reverse-engineer Thing DNA, where mac escaped and stole one of their helicopters maybe. The game takes place 3 months after the end of the film.

That was pretty much the issue, along with it being a “prequel” but really just being a bad remake of the original, like so many prequels.

It is obviously going to be some woke ****** ****. Hell they will probably only have one white guy in the cast and he will be the antagonist. The THING it's self will probably be a protagonist in this film and will work with the black chinese pink haired lesbian characters to take down the horrible white male.
