Probab!y not. Im taking my mom to a concert and dinner. Not sure what ill do at midnight but probably will just be me and my dog. How about you?
    Aww, AJ,
    that sounds wonderful
. How special that you're taking your Mom to a concert and out to dinner.
    Very, very nice of you.
Same for me, my New Years Eve is going to be me and my doggo, as usual, alone for the evening. We might be hunkering down, however, because the neighbours use this (and pretty much any remote) excuse, to set off loads of fireworks for hours on end. I try to give him so special "holiday treats" though…
That means doggo will be under the dresser or a chair, but I'm going to try and nab him if I can get him in time and canoodle with him on the bed underneath the sleeping bag that I keep on top of the bed to protect it. He often crawls under to create a nest in which to hide. If I catch him in time I'll try to join him (before he hits the deck under the furniture and starts to tremble).

That's so nice, Aj! Nothing special for me, just a quiet night at home

I only know about the blackeyed pea tradition, but I don't practice it. You are supposed to eat blackeyed peas for good luck or some such nonsense.

Pickled herring. In Germany, Poland and Scandinavia, it's believed that eating herring at the stroke of midnight will ensure a year of bounty — as herring are in abundance throughout Western Europe. Also, their silvery color resembles that of coins, a good omen for future fortune.

Interesting. Ive never heard that one. Seems to make sense. Many traditions seem to involve eating a particular food to bring prosperity in the new year. Filipinos eat round fruit.
