Think about it.
Red is close to pink and pink is for girls while blue is for boys.
So it went from being Christina to Chris in that moment then later on changed her mind to go back to be a girl after all.

Christine was a Plymouth Fury, but not all of the cars were Fury's, so they were modified
They possibly weren't all red to start with
