        I gave it a '7'. A fairly entertaining movie.

7 is a good call and I prefer it over
          Cujo
          and
          The Dead Zone
          from the same year.

"The Dead Zone" is my favorite of the three.
I like "Cujo", but I that kid gets on my nerves.
            "Firestarter" is lame.

              I feel
              The Dead Zone
is missing something in representation. It is great to have Walken and Sheen on board, but compared to the book, which was both intimate and epic, I just find the film was way too rushed.
              I enjoy
              Firestarter
very much. Pretty much the entire novel was contained within a 110 min feature and I like the cast. The visual effects were top notch for its time, pre-cgi days. I'd love to have Charlie's powers more than Carrie's. She was also TK psychic in a sense and she was just explosive.

"The Dead Zone" worked so well for me because of Christopher Walken's performance. Johnny is such a likable person.
"Firestarter" may be a little bit better than I had first claimed. I just looked at the supporting cast. I forgot about Art Carney and Louise Fletcher being in it. I need to see it again probably.

                  I have only read
                  The Dead Zone
once and lately it has been recollected by me as being one of the best King reads I had. Johnny and his gf Sarah were both very likeable characters.

                    A solid 8 from me.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
