Your fiance is right. He plays left back tyre and also does a cameo as knackered tyre n10 in the scene at the wrecking yard.

Johnny, WRONG! Look at the list of cast from IMDb for Christine, Travolta is not listed there. IMDb lists cmeos and uncredited parts, including those in scences cut from the movie. John Travolta was not in the movie Christine by John Carpenter. You are on the Intenet Movie Database, fool. Try reading it.

I was just watching this movie for the first time. I thought I saw John Travolta until I got a better look at the actor. I had to look up the character, thinking he must have been a stand in for Travolta @ some time.

He does look like Travolta, and some people who watched Carrie thought it wasn't Travolta playing Billy, but the Buddy actor.
Also what I think is kind of cool, Dennis and Buddy play romantic rivals in the first North and South movie, they're both in love with Genie Francis' Brett.
And "Dennis" kills "Buddy" in a duel.

Buddy (played by William Ostrander) does look like Vinnie Barbarino's "evil twin."

Buddy purposely looks like Travolta, mainly as a callback to "Carrie" and because it takes place in the late 1970s where Travolta was mega-famous at the time.

Closely similar to Travolta's "Grease" character with that tight black shirt.

I can see the casting director saying "Get me a John Travolta type." since Travolta by that time near the height of his fame would have been too expensive.
I could be a morning person if morning happened at noon.

The Buddy Reperton character is almost IDENTICAL to Billy Nolan, the character played by Travolta in CARRIE.
And William Ostrander, who played Buddy Reperton, does look a bit like a beefed up Travolta, so I can see the confusion.
And the film/ book takes place in 1978, when a lot of young men went for the " Travolta look."

When this was made in 1983, Travolta's career was virtually dead. If you look at his page here you'll see he made very few films in the 80s and most of them were rather forgettable. He probably would have killed for a chance to play this part.

I wish Buddy would have told Christine: "Up your nose with a rubberhose bitch!" before she ran over him.
