I just learned about this. I can't believe it, I've been a member since 05 (Old account banned) and I'm saddened about this news. I go on here to post about my opinions on film and to discuss my favorite films with other people. This is a horrible horrible decision. Where am I supposed to go to talk about movies now?

The odd thing about this is that this board is more popular than ever (and I've been posting on it for the last decade or so).
If you look at this thread alone, there are more newbies posting that just joined in (Wes, WRS, ManRam) than mainstays (Teegy and I).
So for them to say that the boards are dying and are no longer useful is nonsense.
It's all about money, and it's probably been killing them that we've all been posting for free on here for years.
So what they'll probably do is bring back the boards at some point where you have to pay per post.
It's all about greed and corruption, and Amazon has made it clear that that's their only goal.
PSThanks to Wes, WRS, and ManRam for joining our wacky groupI've really enjoyed reading all of your posts over the past few months. It's just too bad that it's all going to end soon. -

Seconded.for all the dross on the IMDb boards, they performed a useful function that I can't get anywhere else in quite the same way. The only upshot of this is that there aren't very many movies I have left to watch.
