    The only version on the Region 1 DVD is "pan and scan". Let's hope that the special DVD release of "The Jerk" does well so someone goes back and re-issues the Steve Martin/Carl Reiner movies ("All of Me" and "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid") in the original aspect ratio. And add a director's commentary while Carl is still with us! Also I understand that the DVD version of "The Man with Two Brains" is short abut three minutes from the original theatrical release.

      Agreed, i'd love a Region 2 copy to be released also. Being one of my fav films i have region 1 but region 2 would be great 🙂 .
      What a brilliant film ! Im suprised how unheard of it is. Oh and id also like a soundtrack for cheesey 80's synth 😉

          I was channel surfing, and I caught this on ABC Family (of all places) a couple years ago. Had a couple scenes I don't recall ever seeing before.
          One goes like this:
          After he takes Anne's brain home, he leaves it in the den on the desk. But forgets to close the blinds. The sun beats down, and the fluid starts bubbling. She calls for help, and Dr. Hfuhruhurr rushes home ,and tries to move it (too hot and he almost drops it), then cools the jar off (forgot with what). He asks her if she's OK, she says she thinks so.
          Paraphrasing from memory:
          "Say your ABCs!"
          "A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y."
          "What's a black and white horse?"
          "An ebra."
          "Where does it live?"
          "At the oo!"
          "Well, how many words have a 'z' in them anyway?"

            Yeah, I remember that scene! It was one of the bits where he hears her calling for help from a long way off.
            "It's just one lou_y letter."
            It was supposed to be part of a short running gag that made the "You cooked her nines!" scene make a little more sense.

              Also, I remember Siskell & Ebert discussing Steve Martin movies, and Ebert noted that "Man with Two Brains" is perhaps even funnier than "The Jerk."

                  I agree. A widescreen special edition DVD with a wealth of tasty extras would be very sweet indeed.
