    I FINALLY bought this DVD about 2 yrs ago. I don't know about the Z's or stinky socks. However, Kathleen Turner DID bake Anne's "9's" in the oven. As for the scene in the boat I recall an "intimate" kiss after Steve Martin stuck a pair of wax lips to the jar. BTW, my first encounter with this movie was shortly after the original release. If you do locate an extended version, by all means, please share the wealth.

      Mm, the socks in the closet, she's all 'Where am I?' and he yarns some bollocks about how she's on a windowsill overlooking a garden and she says 'ohh I can almost smell the flowers' and he picks up some socks, smells them, makes an 'ugh' face, and hurls them away and says tata.. that zebra bit sounds funny though. I wonder where it's hiding.

        Hey guys, I haven been converting my older beta copies over to dvd. At anyrate after hearing on how the current dvd is somewhat altered, I know I have the true theatrical version. My copy came directly off cable back then (showtime/hbo). What they used to show on those cable channels is what actually was shown in the theater, not the home video version. I will probably get around to this tape tomorrow night, but I do recall him kissing the wax lips on the boat. Will also check for some of the other scenes listed here under alternate versions anf your post. If they appear/do not appear will post it here

          Damn, no dice. I did have the original HBO/showtime airing at one point, but it appears to have been rpelaced with a version I copied directly from the first vhs releases of the movie. Not sure if the original vhs tape has anything the current dvd doesn't, but it still sucks that I no longer have the cable version

            There must be an extended version and/or some deleted footage somewhere, because I have a copy of it that my dad taped off television back in the 1980s (and it still plays, though not well), and it has some scenes in it that aren't on my DVD copy of this movie. There's a really funny scene in the hotel lobby where the doc's hot wife (the scum queen) causes a bellhop to go through puberty in about 12 seconds, just by looking at her.
            Also, the scene with Ann losing her Zs is in there, too, along with some other stuff.
            I wonder where you can find a copy of this movie with all those extra scenes in it? I have no idea

              what you have is super rare and I would gladly put it on dvd for you (and anyone else). You have a television version for the film. Tv versions usually have extra footage put in the film to pad out a running time for footage they remove as it is deemed too strong for network tv. After a while some tv versions with extra footage disappear off the airwaves and are replaced by just regular edited down versions with no extra footage at all (such as the case with superman 2). Once again, I can put this onto dvd for you and I can send you references if you need them

                  Keep an eye on ABC Family. I've seen it aired a couple of times there, and the scenes you're talking about are there. I was shocked when I saw them, because I had never seen them before. I discovered the movie after release back in the days when VHS ruled the world.
                  SPOILER
                  On the part where she loses her Z's, the set up is that one morning Mike and Ann are arguing baseball, then Mike has to leave to go to work. As the morning rolls on, the sun starts to shine through the window, and Ann's brain jar is in direct sunlight. The fluid starts to boil, and Mike hears her cries for help.
                  He rushes home, and back to the den where he sees the fluid boiling. He grabs the jar, but of course it's too hot, so he takes his jacket off and uses it to move the jar out of the sunlight.
                  Maybe not EXACT quotes, but pretty darn close.
                  Michael:
                  "Quick, say your ABCs!"
                  Ann:
                  "A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L,M,N,O,P,Q,R,S,T,U,V,W,X,Y."

                      I would like to see the extra scenes but i kind of like the whole "You cooked her NINES!!!" bit, the zebra (or ebra) bit sounds ok but i guess im just used to it. as for the scene with the lemons i have the dvd and that scene is in there. can't remember the exact quote but as hes getting off the elevator he comments to a question, "No, just a head with 3 lemons in it."

                        Those scenes have always been in the versions I saw, and I never saw it in theaters. It was on VHS. Does the DVD not have them? That would suck almost as bad as the editing done on Born in east L.A.
