Following a rather heated discussion in the office the other day( not much work on !) we came to the conclusion that KIT

Blue Thunder vs Airwolf = Blue Thunder
Actually, Blue Thunder would only win depending on where they were fighting. If it's an open space, i.e. the ocean or open sky, then Blue Thunder's a sitting duck. If it was a heavily-built metropolis (i.e. L.A. or New York) however, then Airwolf's speed and missiles aren't going to help much all Blue Thunder would have to do is hide behind a corner, hit the silent mode, wait till Airwolf comes tearing out, and hit his tail rotor with the chaingun. -

Arguably, Blue Thunder could thwart Airwolf's chances of a clear shot by ducking and weaving around the skyscrapers of the city. Plus, we know that if it was a heatseeker, Frank Murphy could always find a suitable barbecue shack somewhere to hide behind :-D.
Otherwise yes, Airwolf would have no trouble spotting BT, but a direct hit could be tricky. -

If Airwolf can shoot down a fighter jet in air-to-air combat, I don't think it would have trouble taking out a car doing 300 mph.
Besides, if you are firing a heat seeking missile, it doesn't matter if the car is going 300 mph. The missile will just lock on to the exhaust or heat from the engine, home in and boom! KITT is on its way to the scrap yard. -

One of teh basics of helicopter combat - Hide, hover and then pop out of 'nowhere' to unleash upon the enemy before they even know you were there or some other such quote from Wings Of The Apache and any other helicopter combat film.
That's one of the main advantages of a gunship over anything else.
Add to that all the different sensors, the very heavy armament, the range (easily 30,000+ feet), the speed and everything else that Airwolf has and KITT (much as I love him) is utter toast.
I watched both series from start to finish and most of the spin-offs and I never saw anything that suggested KITT stood a snowball's chance in hell of beating Airwolf.
As for Mike vs String - If it mattered that much, I reckon String'd just shoot Mike dead.
Failing that, in an outright hand-to-hand, Mike has the physical advantage but String has far better technique and overall approach to fights.
Most of Mike's moves are evidently over-choreographed, whereas String's hits are all delivered at moments when the opponent is open. It looks like a boxer did Airwolf's fight choreography, while Knight Rider had a dancer or a film fan.

Except the Airwolf has a "lock-on" component, something Hawke used a number of times. 300mph means nothing against a craft that can easily keep up. Even if KITT managed to elude the first few attacks, he couldn't keep it up. You're also forgetting that Hawke is one of the best pilots around.
Again, KITT has literally zero chance of beating Airwolf. Zero. -

Airwolf vs Kitt.
I think it would depend on the situation. There are many factors to deciding the victor. To those that want to say that Airwolf could just blast Kitt from the air, while this is true, I for one would not be out in the open waiting to get blasted but hiding in a cave where Airwolf couldn't get me or would have a hard time getting me. After all, Kitt was a supercomputer in a car but Airwolf was a war machine.
So, I think we need to have the Deadliest Warrior decide who would win. We take all of the info from both shows and plug it into their computer program and see who would win most of the time.
