Jean Bruce Scott

I have no problem with female characters coming in for an episode or so and hanging with the two guys. If the story required it. But at the end of the day it would always be String and Dom and no one else. That's it. The way it should have been right to the end. This is why season one will always be the superior season of all three seasons. Hell even the episodes in later seasons where JBS isn't in them is a blessing. No hate for JBS as an actress or as a person. I just say she was and still isn't welcome on the Airwolfr show. It didn't need her there. It shows how the suits tampering with unbroken things can bollocks it up with their idiotic antics. Just because they are making a show - it doesn't always mean they know what's best for it. The viewer knows best!. The viewer is the bread and butter for these chumps in suits. And sometimes they seem to forget this fact. Because at the end of the day if no one tunes in or buys the DVDs (VHS tapes back then) who will?. It wont be the suits.

If JBS was such a drag on the show, why did Bellasario hire her to play a recurring role on Magnum PI? Magnum was as much a male centered show as Airwolf. Also, producers don't hire actors whom they have no confidence in. No, the demise of Airwolf was down to JMV's off screen problems and perhaps the show not having a big enough ensemble to cover for him. Example, In The Heat of the Night didn't have to rely on Howard Rollins due to the size of the ensemble. They could center the show around several other characters. Perhaps, if Airwolf could have successfully replaced JMV or centered the stories on Ernie Borgnine the show may have had a longer run. I'm watching the episode "Desperate MOnday" right now and I can tell JMV is not all there. It's a real shame because he had talent and could have gone far in the business.

Why do you blame Jean Bruce Scott? She's not the one who got the show canceled. It was Jan Michael Vincent and his alcohol and drugs. So stop blaming a person who had nothing to do with the shows cancellation. And stop being an ass.

I liked Jean Bruce Scott on the show very much. There weren't too many pretty, tough, sweet, red-haired women on TV at the time so she was a welcome addition. I liked the episode where she was introduced (I can picture Trioxin_Zombie calling her a "flying meter maid" and meaning it more than Lance LeGault). I also liked the episode (or was it a two-parter) with the biological weapon at the Russian lab. She was always helping String or Dom or needing to be helped, so it was a nice dynamic between the team.

I only own seasons 2 and 3 on DVD and that is because of JBS!
They reason the show went into the dumper is JMV drinking. You can tell as the show went on he became less sober. They say they had to hold him up to act some of the scenes!
I loved Jean.. as a young girl in the 1980s she was an inspirationfor a while I was wanting to be a chopper pilot. Loved her. I can imagine many girls found Airwolf because of Jean -

Well said!
There always has to be a scapegoat and why is JBS getting that?
The network really didn't like JMV's drinking problem. That sealed the show's fate.
I'll admit, I didn't like how they went from Cold War type plots from Season 1 to the home grown problem stories shown in Seasons 2 and 3. While a couple of those stories from the latter seasons were pretty good, the really bad episodes had nothing to do with JBS's Caitlyn O'Shannessy character in effect NOTHING to do with the show's demise. -

Wow reading this thread right now, I never knew so many Airwolf fans disliked Jean Bruce Scott's character so much. I'm currently rewatching the whole Airwolf series, and I don't think she's that bad. Most movies/shows have at least one female character in amongst all the guys (think Princess Leia and stuff like that). Everything seems to have that set up.
Kaitlyn certainly was annoying in some episodes, but others she wasn't so much. I do agree that the character shouldn't be shoehorned in to fit some kind of quota, but should be written to slot naturally and seamlessly with the rest of the program. I think they managed to pull that off okay, but I think in retrospect they could've easily brought in a young pilot dude (like the Kevin Hansen character from Season 2's Natural Born) or given more screen time to Archangel and Marella, instead of Kaitlyn.

Yeah, that baffled me as well. I mean, the character didnt add anything significant to the show, but i never felt she was in the way of anything either.

Agreed. She was okay, I thought.
