Because, if she's a little imperfect as a person, that makes her more human and identifiable to those of us who aren't perfect either, and thus I feel like I have more in common with her, like we'd get along and I find that attractive.

Well, you are horribly wrong as usual and no one in the universe agrees with you. Renee is one of the most popular characters on the show, if not the most. You need to actually watch more than one episode before coming to incorrect, hurtful, stupid conclusions.
Also, this thread was about the actress, anyway. -

You're still obviously biased since you've never seen any of the first 3 seasons and base your weird observations on one lousy scene in one lousy episode. No person who's sat through the whole show thinks that about the fictional Renee at all.
There is no "gorilla frenzy", because it was just one episode and it was never mentioned again. You blew that crap up for nothing. You obviously deliberately ignore every time Renee smiles at Richie or says "What a great idea!". Richie
deserved
contempt for selling dates with Renee without her permission and then not even understanding she was mad because she's a human being and she thought that as her friend, he would be considerate of her feelings. If he did it to Stacy, Stacy would have reacted similiarly. Anyone would have reacted similarly. What you also fail to notice is that after that episode, Renee never did anything to him at all.
You never once mention Ryan and The Kid picking Richie up by his shoulders and shouting at him, yet you think Renee pushes him around. You ignore the fact that every one was annoyed with him for lying too much and they said as much in that same episode in which you claim demonstrates mean, evil bitch Renee constantly picking on poor, sweet, defenseless Richie in every minute of every scene of every episode they are in together.
All this is a blatant lie - but maybe she should! Maybe she deserves to be on the other side of it, having gotten sick and tired of being CONSTANTLY PICKED ON by Stacy and The Kid for the past 3 years! She yells at Richie in one part of one episode. She gets teased in AT LEAST 10 EPISODES! She gets teased to the point of

, not because she lied or tried to sell one of her friends, but because she wanted to do something she enjoyed; she wanted to write poems or because she had feelings for a boy.

Your bizarro world doesn't stack up to the evidence. You obviously have never been a fan of this show at all. You caught one episode once and came to your stupid conclusions. Personally Renee was one of my fav. characters on the show, my other fav. being Ryan. And like other people have said, she's not bossy at all and if she does come off as a bit snide or angry at certain moments, well throughout the 1st 3 seasons she got non-stopped picked on by Stacy and The Kid. But she was always there for everyone when they needed help, including Stacy and The Kid, and she never had real problems with Gloria or Ryan. She was also really nice and sweet to Connie when Connie wanted to audition for Kids Inc. was really shy about, Renee was the one who went up to her and befriended her before the rest did. The only time I remember her being anything close to being mean is when she teased Ryan in Phantom of the Place, but she wasn't being malicious I don't think, she just teasing him because she thought he was being to paranoid.

Renee does the singing voice for Fiona in the Shrek movies, if it hasn't been mentioned yet. I always thought if anyone from that show would go on to stardom, it'd be Reneenot Martika (short-lived though it was) or Fergie, but hey, it was ages and ages agohehe
