As a kid I would see Soundwave and wonder why the smartest guy on the show wasn't running everything. Then I grew up and realized that's usually how it is in the real world, too.

It reminded me of Spock on the Enterprise. He was the smartest but wasn't in command. I did like Starscream when he yelled "Megatron" in that voice -

I wouldn't say he's the coolest but he's definitely awesome. That voice was so cool back in the day and still is today, I love it. I'm super disappointed in Michael Bay for his representation of Soundwave in his movies, I wanted him to have the same voice as he did in the cartoon.
I think it's funny for the few times in the G1 series where they forgot to filter Frank Welkers voice with the Roland VP-330 Vocoder Plus and he sounded like his voice for Dr Claw for M.A.D. in Inspector Gadget. Anybody remember hearing that a few times?
