Screw michael bay. He wrecked what could have been a wonderful franchise by having no respect for the source material. Now, I wasn't expecting G1, but I was expecting a mature franchise that wouldn't make me embarrassed that I (at almost 40) am still a fan of transformers. It's mostly Speilbergs fault. He produced it so he could have picked anyone he wanted and unfortunately he did. He picked a director with no sense of depth, drama, seriousness or maturity. He picked a CGI loving explosion man who is also and arrogent stiff richard! Maybe when Bay is done driving the series into the depths of mediocrety and can't make any more money off of them than someone else will rebot the series and we will get something somewhat logical, mature and well written. Until that time I still have Beast Wars and about 50% of Generation one that is good and about 60% of the original comic to keep me happy. Michael Bay is a cancer to everything he comes into contact with. Screw him and screw Speilberg for appointing him!

Bay is good with CGI effects but clearly he has no clue when it comes to characters or humor. It's painful seeing this guy get so much reward for doing such a mediocre job.

Actually, Bay himself is of the opinion that over-reliance on CGI is a bad thing. A lot of the effects in the movies used a combination of physical effects and CGI, and the latter was really only used for effects that would have been impossible to achieve otherwise.
Can't argue that he likes to take spectacle over everything else, but from a purely technical standpoint, the films were pretty palatable. -

That's Bay's directing, technically impressive but empty and embarrassing in most other regards, lol.

I think they're kind of cool but only because it's Transformers. I don't love them like I would've if Bay would've done them right. His changes he makes to the storyline and characters drive me crazy. I think if done right they'd make even more money. It's the only franchise I care enough about to complain about, I want to see them done right one day so I look forward to a reboot already.

It's not very good for one very glaring reason.. the Transformers were not really characterized properly.. the human characters were the main characters, the Transformers were only developed very superficially and served only as flashy cgi eye candy to amaze you but ultimately served little purpose other than as a theme, as props and as sound effects.. the story elements of the Transformers were very brief and the movies were mostly comedy/slapstick driven.

A live action TV series would be nice, for a 13+ audience that brought back some of the G1 storylines.. though perhaps with a bit of expansion into the human reaction to the transformers presence.. while I love G1 there wasn't always very much human perspective presented to you other than characters such as Dr Archivill, that Berger CEO dude, the odd mayor and military general or scientist, and of course Spike, Sparkplug and Chip.. in a way though I appreciated the lack of human authority being present because it allowed you to imagine your own reaction to the transformers presence.

G1 fan here.
Michael Bay's movies target market is mentally challenged people, or people with no brain. Personally, I have nothing against that.
Michael Bay basically made Armageddon + Bad Boys, using Cars instead of humans as main characters, plus Megan Fox. Personally, I have nothing against that.
Michael Bay knows how to make money producing something for retards who pay to see a mindless film. Personally, I have nothing against that, I mean the poor idiot has to make money for a living, and what better way than sell beep to people who are idiot than him. It's a perfect business model.
Michael Bay has ZERO understanding of the G1 era. -

I'm looking forward to a reboot one day where they stick to and follow more closely the original G1 story line. I hate the changes Bay made like turning Prowl into an evil police car just because he liked the fact of an evil police car.
