When Mozart is at the party with his wife and father, the camera focuses several times on a boy in the crowd. He's about 6 or 7, and he's deeply admiring Mozart's playing. Who is this boy supposed to be? Is it Beethoven, who was indeed an admirer of Mozart, and who would have been about that age at the time? Any musical historians care to comment?

What is the source of that? First of all it's not historically accurate (though not that it needs to be) but more importantly how do we know that's what the filmmakers intended? Sounds like someone just took a message board speculation and wrote it into the trivia section

I want to clarify that Beethoven moved to Vienna in 1787 at the age of 17 in hopes of meeting Mozart. Two weeks later, Beethoven received news that his mother passed away and he immediately returned to Bonn.
He returned to Vienna in 1792 where he spent the rest of his life. You all know that at this time, Mozart had been dead for a year.
In any case, Ludwig van Beethoven was too old to be a child as the one portrayed in the film.
