Why do you think they would choose to suggest that this man is gay???<<
You really had to offer an explanation for why, Victor never fell for Jenny. Why, he would ever be able to sacrifice and/or murder Jenny.
Jenny was beautiful. His lack of interest, had to be, for other reasons.
Now, ironically, I think most of the audience never notices any of this. But it's interesting that, the Director paid attention to it.
For Americans, Victor being a 'Bad Guy' was sufficient explanation for any and everything. But the Director offered another 'Hinted Explanation'. -

i won't say he is or he isn't, but it doesn't matter to me since it really didn't effect the story line at all. i thought that he kinda had a thing for jenny for what my opinion is worth, but it really doesn't matter to me since it did not effect the main story line at all.

In german this was dubbed as
"Liebling"
which for me has more of a "sweetheart"-meaning than a more neutral, superficial "darling".
But in the earlier scene where Victor is on the phone he uses
"Liebling"
for the person he's speaking to, too, therefore Victor seems to have several "love interests" -

Does that bother you? Nice how the movie stereotyped Serge, the 'token', 'lets laugh at the 'gay' guy', because he is being flamboyant and is funny to watch.
Did anyone notice this as well??
Did you notice how Axel and Mikey, seemed quite close and intimate with each other. Must've been past lovers; but would people notice this hint as a 'gay' undertone, or just swept under the rug. Yes, people will see what they want to see, even if there is subtle intention behind it.

There was a theory on this board about how Axel was indeed gay. Yes, the hints of his affection toward Mikey, how it seems Jenny was throwing herself at him at times ("I'm gonna take a shower") and he doesn't bat an eye, etc. But who knows really. Maybe the writers did this intentionally to make it ambiguous.
