You're actually right. It is racist. It implies that blacks who complain about discrimination in a hotel or any business, or in housing in general, are just whining and complaining and making a scene as Eddie Murphy did.
The guy drives up in a beat up car, dressed like a bum, yet they are very polite and try to accommodate him, and he screams like a bitch. It implies complaints about discrimination by blacks are frivolous.

It's using "it's because I'm black" for comedic effect.
His skin color has nothing to do with the conversation but he pressures the white receptionist into doing what he wants by playing on her fear of being seen as racist.

That whole incident with Eddie Murphy and the trannie was hilarious. Murphy claimed he was just being a good samaritan and giving the prostitute a ride. Lol.
The trannie, Shalimar Seiuli, died a year later in a bizarre accident. RIP but it's too funny:
On April 22, 1998, Seiuli was found dead on the sidewalk outside of her apartment building by a neighbor in the same building. Clad only in lingerie, police suspected that Shalimar was locked out of her apartment, and tried to use her robe as a rope to slide down from the roof then swing to an open window, but instead, she fell five floors and suffered severe head trauma, resulting in her death.[5]
